big feelings
Updated: Jul 18

Thank you, God, for the big feelings.
Thank you the devastation I feel about the immigrants and citizens being murdered by anonymous masked agents.
Thank you for the rage about White Nationalists marching on the 4th of July.
Thank you for the shame I feel to live in a country with a government that uses social media to mock, demean and dehumanize.
Thank you for sadness I feel for the children across the ocean being bombed for oil and greed.
Thank you for the yearning for the times when racists were vililanized rather than victorious.
Thank you for not making me numb.
I don’t want to be indifferent.
My hate for the sins of our people is a demonstration of my love for this country.
In my sadness, I am assured of my humanity.
When I’m angry, I can’t be silent.
