"I hate my opponent and I don’t want the best for them." - Donald Trump, September 21, 2025
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
"You know, it’s funny. I used to say that, hey, if you as a gay person went to Gaza, they’d throw you off tall buildings, right? Now, they don’t have any tall buildings left…Is that too soon?" - Charlie Kirk, November 2, 2023
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
When I think about these statements being made, I am disgusted.
But what I can't get out of my head is the response from the audiences - laughter.
Roaring laughter, coming from participants of two different Christian events.
Cheering on hate.
Finding humor in genocide...or murder, or both.
It tells me so much about the current culture of religion in America and I wonder if I want any part of it.
Who is this Warrior Jesus? Condemning Jesus? Exclusive Jesus? American First Jesus?
And then I remember the voices of my community.
They find joy in the Peacemaker Jesus. Forgiving Jesus. Inclusive Jesus. Humanity First Jesus.
They sing to the Gentle Jesus. Servant Jesus. Humble Jesus. Open-arms Jesus.
They seek to emulate the Compassionate Jesus. Patient Jesus. Merciful Jesus. Generous Jesus.
May our voices be so loud that everyone knows this love.
