White Jesus, My Savior??

Every small town American church has one.
The Catholic Church down the road has theirs on an expensively wrapped van.
Even in mine, a loudly progressive church.
Someone delicately placed a picture of their little White Savior in the windowsill.
The Department of Homeland Security posted its White Savior on Easter morning.
Now we have Trump proclaiming to be a White Savior.
Can you imagine if Biden had done that?
We know the outrage it would have sparked if Obama had - because, you know, he’s black.
So we now have another depiction of a White Savior - Donald Trump.
The image of himself as Jesus.
And what else do we notice in this depiction - and every other one I’ve seen from this administration about the perfect homeland or the perfect heaven - everyone is white.
Anti-Christian, Anti-American white nationalism at its worst.
Exploiting Jesus.
For the ways our scriptures have taught us that racial superiority, discrimination, and prejudice are sin and all the ways we perpetuate them, Christ have mercy.
